Vincy Music Invasion
Curtis-C
Curtis-C is ready to "Confort You" with his sophmore album "Comfort Me". The titile track is an instant classic because when you hear it and say 3 times fast you will know why. The Album has a total of 16 tracks and you will have a very dificult time finding a bad one. It include some previously recorded tunes that were singles on compilations but now you've got all Curtis-C preveously known as Curty Banton. Some of the guest artists include Arleen Twist, Philly Dilly, Smarty Junior, and Power D. Curtis lunched the CD on June 10th on the Brute Force Entertainment Label at the Red Bress Resturant in Brooklyn New York to a sold out show. This CD will have you winning all over the place with tunes like, "Way you are look for ", Whinning In", "Jock Back" and Bachalor Life. Its no suprise to me that St. Vincent Soca artist Kevin Little, and Jamsie P is blowing up the charts and are crossing over into the main stream. Finaly Soca music is infecting the audience with its compeling beats, creative lyrics and just plain old party niceness that will soon plague the world. I have been in this busness for over 20 years and I know the music industry well enough to say that Caribbean Music is the music of the millinium. I said before and I will say it again, they cant stop it now. Reggaeton, Dancehall, Soca, Ragga, Soca Hip Hop, and Souce are not far from becoming household terms. When that happens everyone will wonders where have they all been. I will tell you where, on shelf of many radio stations and record stores that use to sell them for a dollar because no one knew who Mahchel Montano, Frankie Macintosh, Liston Paul, Rupee, Kevin Little, and Elephant Man. These guys have two things in common and that is Music and the Islands. In total they represent about 100 years of musical experience and only one of them is in there fifties. One of the first Soca/Calypso artist to sign to a major record label was Bechet from St. Vincent. His songs Mari Wana was a smash, along with Vincy Mas. Now Kevin Little and Jamsie P are making history with their signing to Atlantic and Universal respectively. To hear a sample of Curtis-c click here
FAFA delivers some smooth Soca Ragga groves with the help of Kevin Little, Curty B and friends. The Album "My Life" has some very interesting stories in cuts like "I Like How You Doing It", and "Dollar" which discribes a player's accounts of amount of girls he's been with to dollars that would make him rich. This album is well balance with lyrics and music that compliments each other. Fafa combines his talents with Kevin Little, Bud, Curty B and he is sure follow the footsteps of Kevin Little who is now a bonifide internationally knowed artist. Fafa is also walking beside his brethrens from the other Islands and producing artist in Boston and NY. "My Life" has 13 tracks and is avaiable at sales@caribbeanculture.com. Also check our Makala with her new songs, Doh Follow Me and Give it to Me. Currently all songs played on WILD Radio AM1090 Boston.
TRI DIS CREW's brand new riddim "Fireproof" is a masterpiece. All track feature a unique blend of Soca/Rapso/Ragga with a latin flava. This crew is truely inspirational with their lyrics and grooves. Check out the motivational sounds and the party tunes "Father TIme" by Steve I, "Wine For Me" by Ridleh Red and the Spanish tune "Eso" Cathy. Fireproof is the perfect title because this album is hot yet it will not burn you with offensive lyrics like most riddim these days. An album for everyone.

The album cover with a pretty face dosnt allways means the music is pretty, but in this case it does. SOCA 101 is a must CD for all the SOCA lovers. Some of thes songs came out before the CD medium was invented and if you still have the records, you have collectors items which are now preserved on compact disc.
